To be legal in Indonesia you need to be of the same religion, or at least profess to be. You need two celebrants, one of whom is civil and one religious, whatever religion that may be. The ceremonies are performed at the same time. You also need a certificate of no impediment from the Aus. consulate in Denpasar. All this is very simple if you have sombody to help. Our sole responsibility was to turn up at the consulate and do simple paper work and turn up on the day.

I feel it is much less stressy if you get a wedding planner who will do all this for you. This may be as fancy or as simple as you please. If you want simple I suggest you contact Gael at Bali Magic Touch. balimagictouch@hotmail.com If you want the whole box and dice then try Bali Weddings International or any of the big hotels with their own wedding planners.
