I used one of the porters last week when leaving. He was very well presented in the new uniform and waited very patiently while my friend/driver went to find a parking spot, as he was determined to see me off at the terminal, with his wife and son as well.
Walked us patiently through the crowds, as we were a little slower than some with a small boy and pregnant lady in tow. Again waited while we all said our goodbyes at the door. Then he put my bags through the x-ray and back onto the trolley without me needing to lift anything. Walked me right up to the check-in counter and put my bags onto the conveyor for me as well. I was happy to give him Rp50K for all the lifting he saved me, even though I'm sure that much less would have been acceptable for my two medium sized bags. He certainly seemed well chuffed, lol.
