A few years ago, a young girl staying at the same hotel as me got a 'henna' tattoo done, It wasn't till quite a few hours later that the blistering started on her skin. Once it did start, it wasn't pretty. We made sure she got herself to the apotek who gave her some cream that helped reduce the reaction. I'm not sure how it ended up though, as we left a day or two later.
