First of all let me say that I have no tattoos, nor have I ever had the desire to disfigure myself with them. (And suffer pain to do so).

But I would be interested to know whether "waiting an hour or so" would be sufficient time to accurately determine the the body's reaction to the application of potentially damaging material.
