remember, that it is not the same here, privacy is not something that you can find readily so when someone climbs over your wall to paint the neighbors wall, or jumps into your yard to erect bamboo scaffolding so they can fix their roof or jumps into your yard as the dropped a tool off their roof - it's not something the cops are interested in (all things that have happened to me). Last week a man appeared standing on the perimeter wall to our house, 2 minutes after hubby drove off. If the dogs had not gone insane barking I would not have known he was there, he was holding a knife and looking down into our yard and back of our house. I screamed at him to get down, he barely blinked and muttered something about working on the house next door, he did not seemed deterred by 2 barking dogs either. I screamed another 3 times and kept telling him to get down, lucky for me he did. I called hubby who came home and promptly broke some Bintang bottles up, climbed up the wall and liquid nailed the broken glass to the top of the wall. He now will not leave me at home alone as he too has been reading about all the attacks. One home invasion they poisoned the dogs. Now, we don't live in a Villa but we are so still worried as the police and Banjar do not do anything if you complain about someone on your property, we have now experienced a reaction of "whats the problem" 3 times so this time we didn't even bother with them, just put the glass up discussed a plan, if they come in the back, we run out the front door, dogs by our side. Ive never answered the door to anyone I don't know and as we have no staff there is no reason for anyone to be on our property, people walk up the driveway to read the water meter and I stay inside.
People posing as staff, workers, pool cleaners, anyone could be an attacker so I would be checking out security before I book a villa.
