I just read a JBR where someone said they only take carry on luggage and come back with cheap bags full of goodies. My suggestion, what we have learned, is take full suitcases. I post notes at work and take bras (34 pairs last time) clothes, pencils, colouring books, nail polish and makeup, jewellery, shoes, perfume, towels and anything else I can cram into our cases. It is mind blowing to hand out bags of goodies to locals, the staff that clean the rooms, the ground staff (whose English is not usually good enough to do customer service). People laugh when I put the notice on the board at work and ask for pre loved bra's, but they are very expensive for the Balinese to buy. The children love the colouring books, pencils, erasers and stickers that I put into numerous freezer bag packs. We buy a box of lollipops over there and hand them out on the way home each night. Then when my suitases are empty I can fill them up up with cheap preesents to take back home. Four weeks to go, can't wait.
