Hi folks.
Just wanted some feedback on those that have stayed in villas in Bali. We live in a simple house in Bali and have always done so, but for a treat we thought it would be nice for the family to stay in a villa for a few nights to celebrate a milestone birthday for me. It would mean that we have the luxuries like hot water, AC, a pool etc. As there would be 6 family staying in the villa we wanted to invite a few friends for a dinner party so a total of 9 or 10 people. So I found a lovely place and contacted them to ask a few questions.
I asked if the staff could work one night instead of the day, I asked if they had a babysitter on staff and asked if they had enough glasses, dishes etc for up to 10 people as the villa is a 3 bedroom. I thought I better check as it advertises an 8 seater dining table and I wanted to have my birthday dinner there and there could be a total of 10 people, didn't want someone drinking out of a cup. I was very clear that it was for a small gathering of up to 10 people.
Here is the response I got:
"Function fee will cost you at US $ 400.00
Banjar fee will cost you at US $ 300.00
Refundable security deposit will cost for your function at US $ 500 - US $ 1.000
And the villas only have staff in charges until afternoon 4.
The villa management suggest you to rent your own catering"
Wanted to know if others have had small gatherings in their villas while holidaying and if so did they have any problems with the villas wanting money for extras? I just want to know before I contact another villa as I may not mention that we god forbid want to have a few friends over one night for a few drinks and nibbles.
