Mid last year an Eka Jaya speed boat broke in half on its way to the Gillis,lucky they had just left port but if it was half way across i doubt most if any of the tourists would have survived. the coast guard wasnt even notified.

Treading water In the Lombok straight would be a nightmare for anyone and doubt much ID would stay with the actual person for long.

Eka Jaya is a tour company and I dont even think they know how many people are on which of their two boats at any given time?

Shonky tour operators dont care! I was on that boat twice two weeks before it broke in two and it was scary enough in one piece.
