Even when I went to see the dragons on Komodo they are dragged from somewhere else to a place they didnt want to be (it happens every day) and held captive so tourists have 100% chance of seeing them in the wild, and thats a world listed nature reserve!
I am sure that if the lions had a choice they would rather be in the wild killing things including people.
In my opinion it is well set out and animals very well cared for which made the overall experience more worthwhile.
If the younger lion had a larger enclosure near the toilets what would be the point?it would come nowhere near the windows?
