I've also visited, in fact on one morning i had breakfast with the temple abbot and the other monks. Fully grown tigers joined us at breakfast that are not allowed to be with tourists yet and are slowly being familiarised with the company of human beings.
In the area where tourists can be with tigers one of the methods they use to pacify restive tigers is to spray tiger's urine in the tigers face. It is to show the tiger the monk is the dominant creature.
Thai volunteer workers told me the tigers are not drugged. Is this true? I don't know. Prior to going there, and since, i've read so many conflicting reports
