thoroughly enjoy them and I mostly agree !!

This time I DEFINITELY agree !! Living in Brisbane means we can usually only go once a year unlike those from WA who can visit 2 or 3 (or more ?) times a year. Putting up airfares would just make it so much more difficult.

Over the decades I have watched Noosa (Sunshine Coast Qld) grow from a sleepy coastal piece of paradise to an overpriced and amazingly exclusive area far removed from most holiday budgets.

Although Bali would never become a "Noosa" it should not become an exclusive holiday destination. Bali has simply become so incredibly popular in the past few years...the traffic is testament to that !!!

You are right Hillary...increasing airfares may reduce the number of tourists but not the bad behaviour which transcends every income bracket.

To those of you who have been traveling to Bali for years and can remember a much more relaxed and quiet Bali please consider yourselves extremely lucky, I can certainly relate to those memories as I can also remember both our coasts where everyone could have a fantastic summer holiday regardless of their income. As much as you would like to keep the old Bali to yourselves, it is not yours to do so and it is time you learnt to share !

I have only known Bali since 2005 and have already seen changes in those few short years. To those who say Bali has lost it's "gloss" please feel free to find yourselves another relatively unknown holiday destination. That would free up more space in Bali for those of us who don't think it has lost it's "gloss" and who would like to see the airfares stay the way they are thank you very much !!!

Well written Hillary and very appropriate !!! (Plus I love lots and lots of brackets !!!)

Cheers

JIL
