Its funny how low airfares can be used as a reason for change - I can remember the ugly aussie being presnt in australia well before airfares were cheap. The ugly aussie abroad is not an economic condition lets face it the middle - high income earners have more income to spend on alcohol while abroad and do not have any higher tolerance level to its effects they can be as ugly as anyone else when they drink too much/ too long.

Lets face we would all like things to be like they were when we first encountered them - we all want to be like it was when we were carefree teenagers newly weds, DINKS etc but life is not like that we evolve and those around us do to. Maybe its not just bali thats changed but us, our old friend is not the same as they were when we were 19 or 20, why can we change over time and expect other things to remain the same ? As we can't keep things the same we need to cherish the memories, focus on the good things remain and try and not dwell on the negatives.
