Hi,

In all the times I have been comming to Bali and now that I am living in Bali, i have heard wonderful things about Warung Bamboo. I have been told reasonable prices, food was excellent and the beer was cold!

After living here for 6 months, the other day (Sunday 28th August) I had occasion to invite friends to go join me for lunch at what i beleived was going to be a good experience.

I was bitterly disappointed, we were the only ones in the warung however the service was less than poor - it was dispciable - I even had to go up to the staff and help them select the wine that had chosen. The drinks were hot and the food was disgusting!

The prawns we ordered, you could have used them as a fishing line sinker - they were so tough not to mention very small, the calamari (squid) you could bounce it off a wall like a bouncy ball...

The only saving grace was the fish, we ordered baracuda - it was superb, filleted correctly and cooked to perfection.

The Bintang was not cold, the wine was not chilled (we ordered Rose) and the wine glasses were dirty...

The price was also way over the top considering the other 20+ restaurants in the bay seem to serve edible food.

And to top it all off, they used local water to clean, therefore all my guests were running off to the toilet the next day!

I wonder what happens, when there is more than 1 table of 3 people in the restaurant.

Please stay away from this restaurant!

Regards,

Craig.
