location, not the standard of the hotel itself. In short I think that it is overpriced for what it is. We find Hotel Kumala which is roughly behind this hotel on Jln Werkudara to be much better value.

The poster who recommended the massage lady is absolutely spot on she fixed my knee and I hadn't even told her it was a problem. She just felt that it was. It had been playing up for years and I had forgotten that it hadn't used to be painful. Also correct, the staff are lovely.

Two points we found on our last stay 18 months (ish) ago...

1) The black greasy stuff which wouldn't wash out of my nephews boardies was actually from around the "tideline" of the pool.

2) They quote in $US and you need to check carefully their conversion to Rupiah either for paying in cash or credit card. I realise all hotels use a slightly lower rate to cover themselves for sudden currency fluctuations but theirs was not even in the ball park. I stood my ground and eventually they gave me a more reasonable rate.

Before paying I was already quite skeptical of their practices because I had paid for a complete extra night in order to get a 16.00 check out however when I came to mention to them that I would be checking out at 16.00 they told me "No" midday and pulled out the receipt/booking pad used when I booked and paid a deposit. It stated a night less than I thought I had booked and on closer inspection seemed to have been altered. Unfortunately whoever altered it had forgotten to insert a carbon paper and the original date was still on the copy. They were right in the middle of apologising and blaming "the girl" when she walked in and they shut up!

As I left I heard them explaining to an Indonesian family who were just checking in that they would need to wait 4 hours for their room to an error. They looked pretty unhappy, don't blame them....

What a pity. We used to really like staying there. It's still a great location though!
