LUGGAGE & DEPARTURE

LUGGAGE CHECK
My luggage was placed on a table to observe inside, prior to actual ‘check in'. I was asked to remove a battery from a small torch. It was otherwise without incident.

LUGGAGE WEIGHT
Needless to say, I was returning home with a greater volume of luggage than I had initially arrived with. I was several kilo's over, however was fortunate that there was neither mention nor a cost for this when checking in for my return flight via Strategic Airlines.

AIRPORT PORTERS
As a solo traveller, the use of Airport Porters to assist with my heavy & numerous luggages was 25,000Rp well spent.

(Interesting how your attitude can change dependant on your circumstances... previously I have always avoided the porters. In this instance however, without them, I really do not know how I would have managed!)

LOUNGE
Arriving early for check-in, I had several hours to pass. Having not used one of the departure lounges in the past & not recalling which ones were recommended, I chose to ignore them.

Instead, I located ‘The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf' - a small café adjacent to a Polo store with comfy, rounded, low chairs & table. This was a pleasant alternative to the hard chairs in the aisles of Denpasar Airport. Time passed here as I chatted to a couple of other travellers & observed the passers-by whilst enjoying a Café Late....

I listened to a remarkable story from a fellow traveller at the airport. She had been in Bali for just 4 days during which she had her mobile phone pick-pocketed after being ‘pushed' in busy crowds. Perhaps a reminder to us all to try to be vigilant at all times.

STRATEGIC AIRLINES RETURN FLIGHT
A full return flight offering another pleasant & edible meal.
Friendly, attentive but busy staff.
Pillow & blanket available on the evening departure.
Movie sound was a little ‘crackly' but still watchable.
Well worth my $99AUS investment for this flight! :)
My deepest sympathy to the parents situated at the front of the plane whose baby screamed shrilly for the last half hour of our flight.

Hope some of you have found these reports helpful or interesting.
Until next time....
