New world record set for the longest 'taksi' ride along Jl Legian. 37 minutes to travel 300m. Yeah, I know...why not just hop-out and walk... I was passed by a guy on crutches, a charming elderly lady wielding a zimmer frame, a glacier, and hundreds of locals all saying,"there's that same bloke in the taxi we passed earlier !!"
But what great fun, watching the meter climb, getting out & chatting to the other cab passengers, slow motion shopping( get out of cab, enter shop, bargain, go back to cab, place purchase in boot, move to next shop & wait for cab to catch-up) have a manicure leaning out the window, discussing the 'exciting poetential'(sic) of timeshare resorts with Travis from Oregon as he wanders along the street preying haplessly upon the stranded traffic like a seagull plucking the eyes out of washed up fish on a beach.

Truly, the gridlock for most of the day is phenominal. Unless you get out early in the morning add 30 minutes to the average 10 minute cab ride.Of course that means your cab fare will triple also. Unless you love sitting still in traffic, slip on the walking shoes and 'Jalan Jalan' to work off your excesses.

More to follow but I have to go and grab a cab....
