Just got home yesterday from 17 fantastic days in paradise. My Husband & 2 sons flew Jet * with no problems direct from Sydney. Although on arrival we waited 2 & 1/2 hrs to get through Customs we have been travelling to Bali since 1987 and have never experienced such a delay... oh how we wished we had organised a V I P V o a, having said that our friends arrived the following night and were out in 20 minutes...
The first 5 nights we decided to try Sanur, we have been to Bali many times but never stayed here. Our accommodation was lovely at Puri Ayu, we booked 2 rooms 1 had a semi outdoor bathroom, nice little treat. We ate at Duck s Nutz - disappointing, a little Warung - cant remember the name, Mass imos - Garlic Bread to die for, and The tro Bar - great atmosphere, cheap fantastic food, only wish we had of discovered it earlier. There are many little restaurants along the beach which are lovely for lunch when you can enjoy the view.
After Sanur we headed over to Lembongan Island, we chose the 'Fu nShip' US$360 return for 6 people ( our friends had joined us by this time) they will do an open ticket so on the way over we enjoyed the BBQ lunch, snorkelling, Banana Boat Ride, 2 slippery dips on board, Kyaking, after lunch we got the launch to Lembongan and were transferred to our accommodation. We stayed at Tanis Villas in 2 Garden Villas, No TV, No fridge (although our friends scored one dont know how that happened) great little spot. We hired motorbikes and rode around the Island, I have never ridden a bike neither had our 15 yr old, so he and I set off with the 12 yr old doubled by Dad, what an awesome day we had, one of the holiday highlights, we spent the day discovering the picturesque island and learning all about the seaweed farming, travelleing through little villages and meeting many locals. We stayed on Lembongan for 2 nights before rejoining the fun ship for the trip back to Benoa Harbour, not before enjoying the activities on board once again....Part 2 Legian to follow
