Rise early -around 6am and go for a walk along the beach. As I suspected it turns out to be only Mr 50, Stu and myself. Others are MIA. Love to watch the ex pats and locals walking their dogs. What a mis match of different breeds! One little terrier ran along the beach every morning with a his pet rock. Interesting also if like me -you are a people watcher. What's with the 50 something, overly tanned gentlemen in budgie smugglers?? 2 lovely asian girls were having their photo taken when Mr 50 suddenly jumped in their photo-frightened them to death! but soon we all gathered in the shot and even their male friend handed the camera to a passerby and jumped in. Wonder how they will describe that shot when they get home? Meet up with 2 new comers who arrived late in the night and set off to eat. Breakfast at the Padma is beyond words -food, food and more food plus very yummy. I felt like Augustus Glup from Willie Wonka (judging by photos I think I looked like him too). Next it was off to book the massages. I always go to the Melasti Spa but my friend Kezza wants to stay close to the Hotel. After she finds out the massages at the Padma start at $77 US she is quickly trailing behind us. Booked for 9 of us that afternoon. I have never laughed so much -Pop staggered out and looked like a mad professor-hair sticking up everywhere and stating loudly 'absolutely beautiful'. He has had back operations and after a few days of massages I actually caught him having a little boogie to music by the pool. How could you go wrong with 1 hour full body massages, beautiful surroundings for @$15. Took Stu to Ketut's fixed price shop as he had listened to Mr 50 and brought an empty suitcase. Bought 7 t-shirts for around $2 each and trendy shorts for $3 each. Miss Shop-a-holic & friend bought dresses for about $3.50 each. Went to dinner at Mozzarella. Beautiful food and trendy decor. We all had nibbles and main courses -everything was really yummy. Got 2 for 1 happy hour so all had Mojitos (except younger girls who had mocktails). Cost was around $23 each. Decided the night was young so then settled into Posers for some 'roadies'. Earlier in the day, Pop had bought some red arthritic lotion with some sort of stick in it. All I can say is it smelt like dencorub. No sooner had I sat down and a bottle of this concoction is hoisted under my nose- seller tried desperately to assure me it was not 'snakeoil'- but when I said it was dencorub -became confused and ended up saying yes! Seriously, I reckon every street seller had text one another -caught cabs and were surrounding us at Posers. There were light up balls, creepy cats with green eyes, dvd's, duck puppets, lazer lights, bebe guns, light up sunglasses, light up spinning tops, the biggest cigarette lighters and arm bracelets. Staggered home to bed around 11.30 pm.
