and i can tell you its horrible. first, i felt like i had a bad flu. my head was aching, really painful behind the eyes, body aching all over. i got a local doctor in to my house and he gave me an antibiotic injection (without giving a real diagnosis) and some multivitamins (as you do).
the next day i felt terrible. worse than the day before. i could barely walk, and when i did, it was like i was drunk, as i had to really concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other. i got down to BIMC and they said i had a virus of some kind, but it would take a couple of hours to see if if was dengue.
that afternoon, the doctor called and said that it was, in fact, dengue. they advised me to come back in two days for a further blood test to see what my thrombosis levels were. well, the next day i felt even worse so i went back. the thrombosis was down 65 and they said that they had to admit me.
i ended up in Surya Ushadha hospital in Denpasar in the VIP section and could not complain at all. in total, i was in for 6 nights, and also had typhiod, an inflamed gallbladder and fluid on my lungs.
fingers crossed by August there wont be much of it around as HOPEFULLY the rain will have stopped by then and the mozzies will have all died off.
but in the meantime, put the repellant on!
