Kuta/Legian there are plenty of more cosmopolitan places. After all, Australians are only around 12% of all tourists overnighting in Bali.
Was at Aston Kuta yesterday morning with an Indonesian group and very few non Asian to be seen. Try the beautiful Keraton at Jimbaran where pleasant Europeans predominate. Many of the Nusa Dua hotels have a very low number of Australians. Just don't choose from everyday suggestions on this forum or what the Oz agents push. On holiday I would never stay in a hotel that doesn't have a foreign ambience and clientele, otherwise may as well stay home. There are hundreds to choose from.
