On my last visit to Sukawati markets in March 2010, I bought a painting I quite liked for 350,000 rup complete with a very nice timber frame . This painting is 1.5 metres long by 1.0 metres high . The seller knocked the frame apart for me and bundled it up in a package that I put in checked baggage and carried the rolled up painting as carry on luggage. Had no trouble getting through customs in Sydney, I did check the timber frame thoroughly on purchase ,could not see any borer holes etc., but did take the precaution of spraying it with Baygon before repacking it for the trip home.
