So sorry to hear of your misfortune. As the mistress of disaster, I broke my finger a few years on New Years eve in New York! No way was I going to the ER as would probably still be there today. Went to the chemist and had all types of New Yorkers giving advice, diagnosing and treating me. Strapped it up- continued holiday and when I came home I saw a hand therapist and plastic surgeon. I sure could have done with a BIMC. You are so right about the health insurance -don't leave home without it. Our insurance is similar to yours and would be very interested on how you got on.
