The fee is charged by "their" bank for receiving the funds. My bank sends the funds I have requested and charges me their fee for doing so on top of that. The fee is part of their operating costs at the resort if they choose to have payment made that way. I also have no way of knowing what their bank will charge them. If they are a good customer it could be zero. As I said in earlier post - later on in the journey Santika were charged USD9 for receiving more than twice the amount of money. (I knew that because they had told me the amount they received into their account when I checked via email that the funds had been received). They didn't hit us up for the money.
It is a cost Lotus Bungalows incurr for requesting payment that way. This resort (Lotus bungalows) gave us no other option to pay them. And we did clearly state in our original email - please quote "all up" cost - they didn't include that USD25 then. In my argument with the rude manager I advised her that I would have paid by credit card if we had been given the option (and transferred the funds from my savings account simultaneously).
She told me if I hadn't paid that way - I wouldn't have got a booking. Maybe that is why there were only 3 rooms occupied during our stay with them.
Sorry - but it just isn't the way for them to do business.
