just a quick report on what we have done so far. We are a group of 14, 6 adults and 8 kids 9-16.

Staying at Kumala Pantai... love it, never been here before, but happy with everything... yes the towels are a bit small and not that white, but hey some of my towels at home are just the same...... The rooms are very spacious, airconditioner works fine....

The Pools are great now packed, we have only swam in the old pool, it is bigger and thats the one we just all head to.

Shopping, we have been into Kuta square I must say we are not shoppers so didnt buy much. My son bought 3 t-shirts at Matahare (35,000rp each) Then we walked up to Poppies 1 and 11. Someone had said there was a really good dvd shop there. Got there eventually and bought DVD's 10,000 each buy 10 get 2 free. This seems to be the standard price at all the places. Got bintang t-shirts 20,000rp. Vans shoes 140,000rp. dresses 30,000-50,000. I am a size 16 and they have plenty of dresses to fit me.

Been to waterbom park, the kids had a great day . Didnt get there early so didnt get a kabana. didnt matter, we found 3 chairs, dumped out things there and met back occasionaly. We didnt get our tickets before, so we had to line up, very busy but eventually got it. Got the bracelet with 500,000rp and got back what we hadnt spent when we left. I think we got about 120,000rp back. had lunch and a couple of waters..

Went to Bali safari park. Got the tickets out on the street. We were a group of 14 so had more bargaining power. Got the tickets for $30us each. Children and adults and all the same price. Got transport there and back to the hotel. A great day, the kids had fun at the water park and the rides at the end. You get 1 ride free, 1 photo taken (with your own camera) with a animal free. There are oranatang and white tiger. The elephant rides were extra around $20A each.
After searching through the forum and cutting and pasting lots of info I have come up with wherever you are there is lots of shopping and places to eat and minimarts.... sometimes it is a hassle finding the places if you dont know your way around.

My daughter got some prescription glasses made at the Galleria. They take 1 week. No-one had mentioned that when getting them they are unable to grind down the lenses (This depends how powerful your prescription is) the blinder you are the thicker the lens. In australia they can grind the lens down and they can fit any frames. Over here we had to get a flatish frame (not curved) so as the lens could fit in. Even then we are not sure how much the lens will stick out. Something to think about. I will let you know what they are like when we pick them up. They were $120.

My final thing to say is. You are on holidays, have a good time, whatever you are happy to pay for things, you pay it, doesnt matter how much someone else got it for and paid for it. If you are happy then that is all that matters. ... within reason....

Thanks for reading...
