Other airlines state laptop bags etc are allowed in addition to the carry on baggage limit of one bag!

AA only states one bag not weighing more than 7kg only with no additional articles mentioned such as umbrellas,crutches,baby bags,laptop bags!

I suppose they could charge you for your duty free bottles if they dont fit in your hand luggage or take the weight to over 7kg ?
