They may not charge you at the gate but they are quite within there rights to stop you from taking it on board if its more than one item or weighs over 7kg?
Financials are just as easy done on board these days as at check in why not at the boarding gate if they choose to?
I have never seen anybody charged extra for a laptop or personal carry bag over and above their carry on but that doesn't mean its not so in some cases with AA! Thats what this whole post is about.
So the Ops travel experience is different to mine! I didnt doubt him i just looked it up in AA terms and conditions and cross referenced against other airlines terms and conditions!
you are arguing because you may have never seen or was un a where of carry on limit checking devises at boarding gates.
