who collects from hotels on behalf of an orphanage. Others may know.

However there are charities who are barely managing to keep children together with their own families and from being placed into an orphanage.
It's my understanding that most children in orphanages/childrens homes in Bali are not actually orphans but are there from reasons of terrible poverty, and yes, they need lots of help.

Yayasan Peduli Munti Gunung isn't an orphanage but it is a hard-working charity working on behalf of people living in poverty.
Barrie Smith aka Smudge, volunteer foundation director, can arrange to pick up your donation from your hotel.

Whoever your friend donates to, good on her for thinking of the children :)
