Being slower, it also apparently has afforded quite a few people dolphin accompaniment! :-)
Most of the reports I've read on on using this option have been good, many P/ups from Bali, then their own boat from Padang direct to Gili T.
Have seen many 'mixed' reports on the public ferry option from Padang, & the associated porter hassles at the seaport.
Was then thinking of using one of the 'fast' boat options back, because, having already experienced arriving at Gili T. around sunset.
(Question: best to book either on Gili T., in Bali, or online?)
All this is part of my 'homework' regarding options on arrival as per the 'thread' post
