He didn't last the month he wanted to go back after 3 weeks, It was raining when he came, it was July and he couldn't handle the cold weather and rain. Our friends live in Maragret River.
He was really fussy with his food and only wanted indonesian food made, he wouldn't try anything else.
He only lasted 3 days in Maragret River and came up to stay with my sister.
He left here with a greater appreciation and we are all still friends today.
He couldn't believe how hard we have it here in relation to the amount of money things cost here and how much we all need to earn to live and to have a holiday.
He will say even today he has a better life in Bali and understands why we go to Bali for a break.
They were going to sponsor him so he could stay in Australia and work.
All is good though.
This is just one experience I know of, however there must be many people on the forum who could help with further information.
I don't know these days what the requested amount is or isn't but he will require money in case he is stoped by custom officers to see that he is able to maintain himself.
Our friend didn't get questioned at all but this doesn't mean it won't happen. Maybe customs are used to people from Bali coming here and aren't so hard on them anymore.
