The "two key" (or maybe three key - who knows?)are usually in reception areas with maybe more people around.
Having said that, don't let isolated incidents like that recently reported put you off.
You could try long cable ties or a wrap round lock (if in room) as a deterent, but the chances of being robbed in this way are pretty remote (Not doubting recent and other repoprts).
When you check in, you could also ask the question about who holds the keys to the room push pad safe if that's what it is.
This will let them know that you are alert to problems and MAY make a difference.
