Hi Kuta Kintay,
we did the trek 2 years ago and all 7 of us thought it was the highlight of our trip. (we,re all in our fifties and not overly fit)
We organized it through Jero at Lakeside Cottages, but it can be booked anywhere, as most treks are controlled by the local tourist "authority".
The route up the eastern side is quite steep with a few loose "gravelly" parts, 2 steps forward, 1 step back, but our guides were helpful and encouraging (only 15 more minutes), and we had quite a few rest stops, making the summit just in time for a spectacular sunrise over Lombok. The views south over Abang to Agung were amazing.
It was a brilliant sight, well worth the effort. The breakfast of steam cooked eggs and bananas with tea was good, even the Coke man appeared. (no Bintang stall though)
The trek down took a longer route around the north west side, with more great views over Kintimani then back to Toya Bunkah, on fairly wobbly legs, which made tackling stairs fun for the next couple of days.
A fantastic experience, with a Bintang offset rating of 8.5 with plenty left for Nasi Goreng.
Just do it
Cheers
