Formal Dress

Can anyone tell me if there is anyone who does really good jobs on making formal dresses and maybe approx price as my daughter is having her year 12 formal at the end of this year.As I am going over in May I thought I might get it made over there for her.Is it also better to take your own material as I also want to get a suit made for my husband.
Any advise would be really appreciated.
