Have become a firm believer in the "reality check" of a first world country for a few months each year ( NZ summer, Bali wet season naturally ) as have observed the decline of many over the years who started off as fairly well balanced people and gradually turned into different, not nice, people.
The old term was Troppo and it's real. Manners get forgotten and they get the "Colonial Master" mentality - not nice.
Beginning not to notice the wide streets and lack of rubbish or road courtesy so it must be time to head back to the " other reality."
