separate issues, the running costs of the villa and the 4 staff and personal expenses.
We only rent the villa short term which covers all expenses plus gives us our income. Our personal outgoings in Bali are not high( apart from Hattons) as we are either in one of two properties we own, eat at Sails in Amed and generally cook at home in Legian.
Vehicle expenses are tiny. Juice is cheap and an oil change and tune is less than NZD 20.00.
We rent the NZ property when we are in Bali so it takes care of itself too.
So it comes down to accommodation. Once that's taken care of the rest is under your control - ie cook at home v going out and the amount of time spent in bars! Chicken, fish, pork and local fillet steak ( which is very good) are cheap and so are salads, fruit and vegetables.
Power is expensive but almost everything else is cheaper than at home.
Hope this helps.
