I personally would never drive in bali as I would be too nervous and probably cause an accident. My husband, however loves driving in Bali. He's a very confident driver. We have hired a car the last 2 trips and will continue to do so.

I don't know if anyone can really answer the question for you as it would be down to personal driving confidence/ability etc..
