I would have thought.
On a trip overseas (in 2008) we had nearly $100 in fees etc with the CBA for our 4 week trip.
I take cash now. I too have never had a drama using ATMs in Bali but I find it easier to withdrawl my money in Aust in one swoop and take cash with me, rather than using an ATM (which sometimes run out of Roops). Atleast with a money changer you can see the rate you are getting BEFORE you do the transaction and I have always gotten a better rate with them, than with an ATM.
I would love to know what bank gives as good a rate as the Moneychanges on the street. I have been looking at buying some Roops before I go and the rate is VERY much lower than what is on the street (mostly between 300-900rps difference which for every $100 is $11 less which I would rather spend in Bali and not on fees and commission with banks).
Each to their own I suppose and whatever they feel is safest.
