It is the same as if you are paying a bill in Australia with your CC.
Only give them the front details of your card such as name, number and expirey date,and ONLY the last THREE security numbers on the back of your card.
Never give the front and ALL OF THE BACK of your credit card details to anyone, This is YOUR security.
They only use your card to secure the booking and will not access your card until you arrive or if you do not turn up they can access the one nights accommodation you secured.
Some people use a debit card only with a small amount of cash in the account, I do know that some people have intentionally put in a wrong number when giving CC details and then give the hotel the real number when they arrive.
Having said that you should not have any problem with this hotel and I would send it via their website.
