Hi everyone, you may not remember me but I used to post on the forum a lot, but study and a new job kept me from the forum for quite some time. I used to travel to Bali yearly, and a few years ago I spent two months in Bali living in a village to 'heal' after retrenchment which worked! This year was a world trip (and the earth is a wonderful place) but Bali is always very special to me. I'm planning another trip in October which will be I hope an enjoyable challenge, cycling the circumference (420 km approx) with my 21 yo son and my cycling partner in Bali, Pekak, who is maybe close to 70 yo. Has anyone done this trip that could give some hints for our trip? We will try to stay in balinese owned accommodation along the way, and eat at warungs for tasty local foods and friendly locals. lol I remember last trip I was out cycling and there was a huge downpour of rain and as it got heavier the little roadside warung way on the back road to Lake Bratan got more and more crowded and we had much enjoyment with my always handy indo dictionary with a spattering of balinese chucked in! Anyway, anyone who knows someone who has done this type of trip, would appreciate getting some advice. Happy Christmas and New Year everyone.
