That said I still think that a 50% price hike for the last 2 years in a row will put some people off - that and the horror that is immigration queues which are a major concern for those who travel to other parts of Asia and spend a fraction of the time and not paying $25 US for the privilege - Kuala Lumpur even Bangkok leave Denpasar for dead in the speed and efficiency of their immigration process.
What it has meant for us though is staying in other pats of Bali - this year Amed and spending less time in Sanur.
