I thought I would post a crime incident that happened to me in Sanur August 2006 to see if anyone else has been a victim of the same type of crime in Bali or has any details.
I was walking alone 2pm, in Sanur to a dive shop. A young guy approached me posing as a tourist having just got off the plane for a holiday. He dressed the part. He said his name was Bruno. He asked a bunch of question about places to stay things to do. To make this brief he offered me a cookie from an open package which I refused then took. Yes, there was a drug in it. Twenty-five minutes later I have no recollection what happened. But the dive shop I eventually got to filled me in on the details. The guy robbed my day bag, took my key and went to my homestay and robbed my room. During this time at the dive shop I was acting strange so my friends took me to a doctor then the hospital. Anyhooo, I have put this behind me and he was not able to steal much, in fact he was welcome to my broken mp3 player and broken cellphone. But I wonder if anyone has had the same experience or has any info. I can still remember what the guy looked like though I only knew him for roughly 25 minutes before losing consciousness.
