(1) Does your laptop have wifi , most do that are less than 6yrs old ?
(2) If you want to use your wireless anywhere in Bali apart from places that offer free wifi or paid access then you will need your stick
(3) If you wish to use your stick it is very expensive .
Note sure if you understand how your connection works but i hope this helps . Here goes: Your stick you plugg in sends and recieves info via a satelite , which is connected to your provider . But instead of using our stick we can go into places like Maccas , Gloria Jeans and many restuarants that have free wifi . We then click an icon on the bottom right corner of the screen that usually is 2 little screens (can be differant symbols depending on software) , ur computer then searches for an internet provider using wifi . The wifi connection you make will then connect you to their provider . You can try this in Aus before you go . Take your laptop into Maccas and try it , somethere will help you . Hope this helps .
