Changing name with *!"#star

Bit of a sad story Son and girlfriend have split up and have tickets with *!@#*star for end of Nov. Guessing one or both wont be travelling now so any ideas on how they can change dates or names without paying an arm and a leg.........P.S they were cheap tickets but would be better if they weren't wasted totally
