We stayed in Lovina with our children in a villa at the Rambutan boutique hotel. The owner Richard & his wife Tini will look after you as if you are family. All his staff are wonderful. I really think if you are to make the trip you would need 2 or 3 days. Lovina is like the Bali of years ago. Except for the beach sellers who can be a bit much until you get to know them you can walk the streets without hassle. They also have some great restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hotel. I was at the beach at sunrise to watch the boats leave for the dolphin excursions and I saw a side of Bali you rarely get to see in the really tourist populated parts of the country. The only tourists we ran into up there were the Europeans we all had great chats at dinner as we were the only smart ones who remembered to bring the Aeroguard. You can book directly with Richard by email and pay by bank transfer into his Oz account. He used to live in Perth until he married Tini. The site is rambutan(dot)org. Enjoy Bali we are heading back in Jan too
