as a gateway to east Timor and now to Bali (as well as other asian centres) Darwin has bahasa Indonesian speakers right through the airport from the duty free section to customs, immigraiton etc.
As a small airport it is much easier for travellers who are a bit unsure. They essentially clear customs and immigration and then there are sufficient people around to direct them on. The airpor tis only two levels adn domestic adn international leave adn arrive at the same airport so no travelling to another airport.
If in doubt a quick call to Darwin airport should enable someone to meet them and direct them to the next flight.
