My wife and myself travelled from Bali to Madrid with Qatar airlines last August. When we booked in at Madrid airport we were asked to show our tickets that were taking us out of Bali again. We were staying in Bali for a week and could have easily packed our Garuda return tickets from Perth to Bali. Luckily we had our tickets in the hand luggage. Now we know that when flying to Bali we must have booked return flights.
