Just got in this morning after 10 great days in Bali with my Wife and 3 kids (14g , 11b ,7g )We stayed at the Adi Dharma and really enjoyed it, the place is a little run down and the bathrooms could do with a refurb but all in all it was clean and friendly, room was cleaned well every day and there were nice clean sheets to lay your head on after a full day of Bali fun, did not think breaky was that hot but it filled the gaps till we could find somewhere for a cappucinno.
We ate at some great restaurants as the wife and kids can be a bit fussy.
some of the favs where ---- Batu Warong , Drops , Bianncos , TJs , Neros and Aromas.
We went to Bali Safari park for the first time and thought it was great, got nice and close to a lot of animals and the kids really enjoyed the day . All the animals looked well cared for and in good condition.
Also did a day at Waterbom and had a blast as usual.
We found Bali to be the busiest we have seen it in 14yrs of traveling there. At one stage we walked nearly the length of Jalan Legian before we got a cab that was not occupied. There just seemed to be people everywhere and it just adds to the kaos which is Bali, at one stage we saw an older aussie woman fling open a car door in kuta square and nearly take out the following motorbike, wow it was close.
Balo rider not happy and you could understand it as it could have been quite serious lucky for his skill.
Another 1st for us was doing the Bali Eco Bike tour, 3 hours of going downhill and learning about the balinese culture, we had a mixed crew with 3 scottish ladies in mid 20s , husband and wife mid 50s and myself and wife 40s and kids. I would highly reccomend a bike tour as part of your holiday as we had a blast, although the 14 yo did come a gutser whilst looking at some ducks she ran straight into the back of me and took some skin of her elbow and knee , but jumped up and finished the tour, the guides showed great concern but we assured them she was ok and apparently it was my fault that she ran into me , figure that out !!!
It was a great holiday and much enjoyed by all, I will post again if i think of any more interesting tit bits as I am totally bushed after flying DPS-DRW----DRW-CNS It ends up being an all nighter as you leave at 11pm and get to Cairns at 0830 the next day.
