The ride itself is not too difficult. From memory there are 2 or 3 uphill sections. There are large pot holes to dodge. This is all managable.
HOWEVER if the other people who join the tour that day just happen to be young and althletic it will not be a leisurely ride. It will be difficult to keep up with them, dodge pot holes as well as tackle the uphill sections all at the same time.
Sorry I cannot recommend this tour to people who have not ridden a bike in quite a while (like me) or even children.
The first time we went to Bali we found a tour company who took us out on a private bike ride. This was far more enjoyable as we were able to ride at our own leisurely pace and we did not have to waste a lot of time picking up and dropping off other people on the tour at their hotels (which is very important when you are hot and bothered at the end of the day.)
Just make sure that the private tour people take you to the Lake View Restaurant for breakfast. That view is stunning.
Bike riding in Bali with cultural stops is a must do just be careful with who you experience it with.
