If the card is in your name and something happens to the card,eg lost/stolen and used fraudulently and the bank knows you gave the card to someone else you probably wont get your money back as it is actually a condition of a debit or credit card that you don't give your card/pin to anyone else, ever, technically not even husbands and wives should share pins. I am not saying don't do it but just be aware that someone else using the card, even with your permission could see the bank actually stop your card and take away any protection you have under the credit code (or whatever its called).

Also be aware that the bank may question why your card is used in Bali so often when you are not actually there and even if it is all above board, with your permission, they are actually well within their rights to cancell your card as, again, it is against the terms and conditions of the card. They are actually trying to protect your money, even if you dont agree they have the right to do so.

Maybe you could look at a travelex card...I think that is what they are called, and you are able to deposit to those and top funds up as well.

If it was me I would sort something out for them in their name, not give them a card with your name on it because even a letter from you giving them permission means absolutely nothing, how will anyone overseas actually know the letter is even genuine?

I know of a few people who have had all sorts of problems transfering funds to Indonesian bank accounts from here, I work for a bank and twice have seen funds come back undeliverable because the receiving bank details were incorrect or did not accept funds from overseas.
