I got a special NAB savings card (got one in my name & one in partners name)- not sure what it is actually called - just ask at the bank. It is designed for overseas travel - it costs $10 a month fees but then it does not matter how many times we withdraw in Bali we do not pay ATM fees. We gave the card in my partners name to our friend along with a letter saying he had our permission to use it so that he will not get accused of stealing it or anything.
