Why not stick to the currency in the country you come from? Even if some prices are quoted in US dollars, they are almost always converted into IDR and thus you end up paying in IDR.

One can change the GBP (or Euros) in Bali but as with any foreign currency, do carry only crisp, wrinkle-free notes as any marks or other damages make most money changers refuse changing such note(s) or you may get an inferior rate.
